i haven't quit, i've been doing really well, become a watered down vegetarian (i still eat dairy eggs and seafood) and have lost 13 lbs total, i just can't seem to get up the enthuiasm to write about it, it's become too much of a way i live and not enough of a struggle to devote a daily journal to. sorry. mon 04.01.02 07:39 p.m. : midge writes
i lost another pound finally, it seems like i've been stuck at 261 forever. oh did i mention i'm not eating things with legs anymore? fish eggs vegetables legumes and grains will be what this old bird feeds on from now on. not quite vegetarian but not quite carnivorous either. tue 03.26.02 07:10 p.m. : midge writes
no more weight off but i'm not surprised. i've been eating well still but sleeping like shit and looking the part too. plus i think the water came back or something maybe? last night i was laying on the bed on my side and my stretch marks did this weird wrinkled up thing on one side where it looked all gross and empty like tissue paper or something. icky. i made a yummy pot of vegetable soup and had fish adn rice at long john silver's while the family had fried stuff that looked damn good but too evil for me. the wagon is not for falling off of, i must remember this. sun 03.24.02 08:54 a.m. : midge writes
the vaseline chips are in the trash. i was three pounds lighter yesterday and i managed to plant my ass on my stationary bicycle for 20 minutes before it was time to shower and get ready for work. i want to do yoga and things at work since i'm just sitting around in the living room while my client sleeps, but my scrubs aren't baggy or forgiving enough to let me flop around and do such things, and you can't wear stretchy comfortable pants. oh well. i noticed i ate way too few calories yesterday (600 something?) and i had some cheese and stuff on my garden rotini to make up for it this morning. i work nights so i'm all backwards. i have dinner at 7:30 in the morning. sat 03.23.02 04:58 p.m. : midge writes
olestra is evil, i had a handful of those wow ruffles chips last night and it was like eating potato chips cooked in vaseline. now my stomach feels all bloated and gross. ick. fri 03.22.02 04:09 a.m. : midge writes
i've been so focused. last night we stuffed our faces with home made sushi, it was so yummy. i might post the recipe if anyone's interested. i rode my bike for 25 minutes and my legs felt like jello when i got off, but it wore off after a few minutes. my knees haven't been too sore or anything, the seat is just really hard on my ass. i have to work tomorrow, ick. wed 03.20.02 11:26 p.m. : midge writes
i just had this for dinner with lettuce, tomatoe, cheese, red onion and orange pepper, and it was so good i had to share the recipe. it's a variation of an indian bread recipe that i invented.
ingredients : 2 cups self rising flour (white or wheat), 1 cup warm water, salt and pepper to taste.
what you do : mix your dry ingredients in a bowl, then sprinkle around 1/8th of your water into the bowl, mix thoroughly with a fork and repeat. keep adding water until your dough is formed together and clumpy but not all wet and slimy, you want a dryish, heavy packed dough. you probably won't need the whole cup of water by the way, or you might need more, i find it always depends on the type of flour. form your dough into a ball and cover the bowl, let it sit for 15 minutes. next pinch off a ball of dough (golf ball sized for thin small tortillas, larger for fatter or wider tortillas) and roll it out on a floured surface with a floured rolling pin. if the dough sticks just dust it with flour and knead it until it cooperates. place your rolled out sheet in a pan on med heat and cook until it starts to bubble and turn brown, flip and cook other size then put into a warm (not hot) oven to keep it soft. finish off your left over dough ball then pull the warm shells from the oven and fill with vegetables, spanish rice, refriend beans or whatever you like. because these are fat free they'll be more crispy and dry than traditional tortilla shells, but they're really good and only around 25 calories a piece (0g fat). smaller tortillas make great taco shells too. wed 03.20.02 06:31 a.m. : midge writes
i just did 20 minutes on my bike and a heap of crunches, leg ups and pelvic thrusties. it doesn't feel like that much once it's done but it's so hard to get the determination up to bother. wed 03.20.02 04:06 a.m. : midge writes
i've been keeping track of my calories and stuff at fitday.com. i like them because they don't charge me money and do math for me. according to them i consume around 1000 calories per day, with less than a quarter of those coming from fat. it hasn't really been long enough to generate accurate averages, and the fact that i work overnights fucks it all up because i can't always enter foods on the exact days i eat them, so i'm going with the few full days normal days i've got calculated so far. i'm happy with those numbers anyways, and the fact that my belly is always full means i'm doing something right. i can't be hungry, it makes me feel ill. i get headaches and feel nauseous and then all resolves goes out the window and i'm at kfc scarfing down heaping plate after plate of buffet. i've been eating lots of rice and salads, bananas, fat/sugar free butterscotch pudding (i'm a sweets hound), sugar free fruit juice frozen pop thingies and fat free tabouli salad. for dinner tonight i made spaghetti squash with sugar free pasta sauce (who knew there was sugar in that stuff, yet it accounts for half the calories in most sauces). i'm pleased with my progress but i should have planted my ass on my excercise bike at least once so far, and i haven't... lazy lazy. wed 03.20.02 03:23 a.m. : midge writes
this journal is part of something i've decided to do to better myself. i've always liked to write, and i think it'll help me stay on track. suggestions, support and hello's are more than welcome, i have some to spare myself. |
